Justine Carey

Justine has a keen interest in ecology, botany, and water-sensitive design and brings a fresh way of thinking to many of TCL’s projects.

Justine completed her BLA (Honours) degree at Lincoln University in Christchurch, New Zealand where she received First Class Honours with a Minor in Spatial Planning. In 2015 she was awarded the Boffa Miskell Design Award and the NZILA Robin Gay Award for her honours project that investigated a strategic planning approach for a coastal Christchurch town, considering earthquake, flood, and sea-level rise risks.

Justine has previously worked as a landscape architect for two residential design firms and for Christchurch City Council. She took part in a semester abroad at Cornell University, USA, and was involved in design intensives in Borneo, Malaysia, and Singapore, where she studied sustainable agro-forestry and water sensitive urban design techniques.
