20+ Years - Uluru Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre
November 15th, 2019
With the closing of the climb up Uluru, we thought it was a good time to reflect back on this seminal project. Anangu - the traditional owners along with the National Parks have been trying to have the climb closed for a very long time, and it was certainly a topic of conversation when we worked with them and architect Gregory Burgess back in the early 1990’s.
Since it opened in 1993 the centre has been an important cultural facility for visitors to gain an understanding of Anangu’s continuous and deep connection to landscape and their spiritual Tjukurpa - or law.
