TCL was invited to participate in an international competition to re-imagine a waterfront in the Ukrainian capital Kiev. TCL's scheme, titled A New East, was underpinned by five strategic threads: Creating a green future; stitching the city to the river; fostering healthy movement; creating joyful communities; and celebrating the seasons. Four new precincts were proposed along the riverfront, Forest Plaza, Waterfront Promenade, Braided Linear Park and River Landing, each with their own unique character.
