Jackie's describes his project "The Silicon Gulf: Transition from wasteland to regenerative tech park":

"The project explores an alternative renewable energy future for Port Augusta by embracing the toxic legacy of historical brown-coal power plant. The project integrates cutting-edge ash recycling systems to turn the Coal Bottom Ash into Silicon Gulf’s construction materials to build the data centres. Silicon Gulf Project addresses the new set of social , environmental and economic challenges brought by the current renewables transition and demonstrates how landscape architects can work with economically frugal processes and ecological powerful processes. It adapts both natural and technological regeneration techniques to transform the toxic legacy of today’s carbon hungry economy."

Jackie was previously the winner at the AILA Spectacle and Collapse - Future Landscapes Competition for this project as well as having received two other awards at the University of Adelaide awards ceremony for "Best Environmental Design Award" and "Best Overall Landscape Project".
