The project has involved the master planning of a trail network for Morialta and Blackhill Conservation Parks. This required both examination of options utilising aerial photos and maps, and on-site investigations of alternative routes.
Australian Standard trail categories were utilised to classify trail types depending on usage, terrain, gradient, and level of signage and infrastructure. Trail options were evaluated against agreed objectives with the final routes forming a trail network of short, medium length, half day and day walks.
Following adoption of the master plan, detailed drawings were prepared for the Falls Precinct where new paths and lookouts have been constructed. Rusted mild steel elements were incorporated to ameliorate visual impact and allow the majestic landscape to dominate.
