The South Parklands Wetland has successfully concluded Community Consultation, following its recent endorsement by both Council and the Adelaide Parklands Authority, with design development and documentation expected to commence in the coming months.
Undertaken by TCL in collaboration with Tonkin Engineering and wetland specialists DesignFlow, the full landscape design will deliver a significant open wetland space, a butterfly garden, a series of walking trails and shared paths, large recreational amphitheatre and lawns, as well as viewing decks.
Once complete, the wetlands will detain and treat flows from Brownhill Creek as part of an overarching flood mitigation strategy across the five different council areas of Adelaide, Burnside, Mitcham, Unley and West Torrens.
