About

TCL have worked with architects Carr Design, Sterling Global, CBUS and Hacer to deliver Como Terraces - a distinctive luxury offering of thirty-nine residences enveloped in verdant gardens. Como Terraces, South Yarra, is situated on Alexandra Avenue, overlooking the Birrarung (Yarra River) Corridor opposite Herring Island. The site has significant topographic change, and this affords spectacular views across Richmond and to the city skyline.

The design and detailing of Como Terraces embodies the landscape—from the distinctive native flora, to the area’s rich cultural heritage; the materials used are of the earth, and both built form and landscape rise up out of the rocky escarpment. From the habitat-rich natural corridor of the Birrarung to the exotic Colonial heritage of Como House – the landscape seeks to juxtapose and blend these contrasting landscape typologies to provide a unique and immersive living experience.

Residents and visitors are welcomed into the site through a meandering staircase that carves its access through rock, grasses and meadow plantings.  Large canopy trees are planted in and amongst the built form with a diverse, colourful ground plane of shrubs and groundcovers. The shadow patterns of the trees and foliage play off against the strong architectural forms.

There are two key communal spaces for residents to utilise, including facilities for outdoor dining, water features, and integrated seating. Each residence has a residential garden oasis or landscaped terrace.

Como Terraces is a timeless expression of nature and luxury, taking pride of place in South Yarra.
